Hello! My name is Maria-Victoria and I am so excited to be CPVMA’s President! I am a current Masters student at the Ontario Veterinary College and a recent graduate of the University of Toronto. From a very young age I fell in love with veterinary medicine and in order to learn more about it, I came to appreciate the importance of communication. Whether it is through talking to veterinarians or your fellow peers, there is so much to learn from one another! During my time at UofT, I realized this need for more crosstalk specifically between Canadian pre-veterinary students. I thought to improve this, the first step was founding UofT’s Veterinary Medicine Club, to create a space on campus at my university for those interested in vetmed. But I didn’t want to stop there so welcome to CPVMA! Now, with the help of this incredible team, we hope to extend that beyond our respective universities: to connect students from across Canada and offer resources to inspire the next generation of vets!
Vice President Outreach
Hey everyone! My name is Kyra and I’m super excited to be the Vice-President Outreach for CPVMA! I am in my fourth year of Biology with a concentration in Health Sciences and a minor in Psychology at Carleton University. My current goal is to become a veterinarian that works in conservation medicine, as I’m interested in exploring the interactions between animals, humans, and the environment. I’ve been a member of Carleton’s Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club since my first year and have been President since my third year, and I have loved being able to connect with pre vet students. I’m hoping that this symposium will provide pre-veterinary students across Canada with connections and resources that will help them reach their goal of getting into veterinary school. If you have any suggestions or questions about anything related to the outreach of the symposium, such as potential speakers or how we can reach more students, please feel free to reach out to me!
Vice President Events
Hello Everyone! My name is Tula Sifling and I am a third year pre-veterinary student enrolled in the Arts and Sciences program at the University of Guelph. I also am one of the UoG Future Vets Club Co-Presidents and I am so excited to contribute to Canada’s first national pre-veterinary symposium. I am the Vice President of Events for the CPVMA this year, meaning that my main role is to coordinate speakers and labs for our symposium. It is really important to me that we build our Canadian pre-veterinary community and I cannot wait to watch our connectivity grow. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if there is a specific suggestion that you would like to see incorporated into our symposium.
Vice President Finance
Hey everybody! My name is Noam Einy and I am a fourth year pre-vet student in the Zoology major at the University of Guelph. I am one of the Co-Presidents of the Future Vets Club and I’m really excited to be able to work with the other vet clubs to bring a Canadian Pre-vet club symposium to pre-veterinary students all across Canada. As the 2021-2022 VP of Finance for the CPVMA, I’ll be dealing with financing the symposium and allocating funds so that this event can be as amazing as possible! It’s an honour to be able to connect the Canadian Pre-veterinary community and I’m looking forward to seeing how this symposium and our community develop!
Vice President Fundraising & Sponsorship
Hi I’m Clara, representing UofT’s Veterinary Medicine Club. I am so thrilled to be a part of this initiative! Seeing how much students in the United States benefit from the APVMA, it was more than time to start a similar endeavour here in Canada. Although I will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Management next year rather than obtaining a veterinary degree, I aim to use my strong passion for veterinary science to aid aspiring veterinary professionals in Canada with their journeys. I am grateful to be a part of such a great team and cannot wait for CPVMAs 2022 Symposium!
Vice President Media
Hey there! My name is Esha and I am thrilled to be the Vice President of Media for CPVMA this year! I am in my third year at the University of Toronto and am pursuing a double major in Nutritional Sciences and Stem Cell and Developmental Biology. I have been a part of UofT’s Veterinary Medicine Club as a general member, media coordinator and now Co-President. My future career goal is aimed at becoming a travelling and wildlife conservation veterinarian, as I have a very large interest in animals and how they interact in their environments. More specifically, I really want to help animals in underserved areas and improve the welfare of them in all parts of the world. I am super honored to be a part of this terrific team of individuals who have a mission to help Canadian pre-veterinary students fulfill their dream goal. We will provide many resources and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to myself or any other member of this team!
Delegate Program Director
Hi! My name is Elise Mohler and I am super excited to be the Delegate Program Director! Growing up in rural Alberta sparked my passion for Veterinary Medicine. I’m interested in the rural production side of Veterinary Medicine but enjoy learning about all animals, big or small. Currently I am in my Second year at the University of Alberta in Bachelor Science in Animal Health and a part of the University Pre-Veterinary/Animal Health Club. Being on the outreach committee and talking to delegates makes me excited as I see the community in a pre-veterinary form! Looking forward to seeing you at the symposium.
Hello everyone! My name is Alex Czudner and I am a third year pre-veterinary student in the Arts and Sciences program at the University of Guelph. I am the current secretary of the Future Vets Club at the University of Guelph, and I am also the secretary of the CPVMA for this year. I am so excited to be a part of this amazing initiative to provide resources to pre-veterinary students across Canada. I have loved working with all types of animals, but my long-term career goal is to become a small animal veterinary surgeon. I would be more than happy to answer any questions, so feel free to reach out to me!
Members at Large
Hi! I’m Sarah, one of the co-presidents of UofT’s Veterinary Medicine Club! I’m so grateful and excited to be able to contribute to CPVMA, and I can’t wait to see how much of an impact it can make on the pre-vet community here in Canada. I’m currently in my third year doing a double major in Immunology and Health & Disease, and I’m hoping that my love for veterinary medicine and animals will be able to shine through as I take part in this initiative. The main goal I’m looking to achieve is to ensure that all the events are inclusive and also to provide a way for the pre-vet community to connect with each other in a fun and interactive manner!
My name is Ananya Mohan and I am going into my 3rd year of Bio-medical science at the University of Guelph. I have always been really fascinated by large exotic animals so my passion as a veterinarian would be to work with wildlife reserves to help with the rehabilitation of wildlife and endangered animals. I am especially interested in the surgical aspect of veterinary medicine. I also love travelling and exploring new places so working to help and promote wildlife conservation all around the world would be the ultimate dream!
Hello! My name is Neshani Gunendra and I’m currently the VP Student Life of the University of Alberta Pre-Vet/Animal Health Club. I am in my third year of my Bachelor of Science in Animal Health. I’m super excited to be part of the CPVMA and look forward to the 2022 Symposium! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
