Hi everyone! My name is Abhi, and I am currently a third-year Animal Biology student at the University of Guelph. My goal is to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College, with interests in both companion animals and large animal practice. I am excited to build partnerships that will strengthen CPVMA, create new opportunities, and provide resources to pre-vet students across Canada. I am passionate about connecting with others who share a love for animals and veterinary medicine, and I look forward to supporting our growing community. Hello everyone! My name is Jessica, and I am thrilled to join the CPVMA executive team. I’m currently a student at the University of Guelph and in the process of transferring my major. I started off my journey at Guelph in Animal Bio, however life got in the way and that resulted in a switch. I’m planning on transferring back into an animal biosciences program and aiming for BSc.(Agr) Animal Science, alongside my current minor in Zoology. My commitment to veterinary medicine began when I was a kid, but during high school I gained roles at a local veterinary hospital and an equestrian centre. Currently, I volunteer with a wildlife rehabilitation centre, where I assist in stabilizing and feeding a diverse range of native wildlife, including squirrels, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, and opossums. Additionally, I work as a Dog Bather at PetSmart, gaining practical hands-on experience and professional grooming skills. My long-term goal is to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and attend the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) following completion of my undergraduate degree. I aspire to work in emergency veterinary medicine, or specialize in surgery. Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I am a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness.
