Sr VP Public Relations

Darcy Owens

Hi everyone! My name is Darcy, and I’m this year’s Junior Vice President of Merchandise. I’m a first-year student at the University of Alberta majoring in Animal Health and an executive member of the U of A Pre-Vet Club. I hope to pursue veterinary school in the future, as I’m passionate about caring for companion animals, horses, and cattle. I’m thrilled to be part of this team and look forward to supporting everyone in reaching their goals.

Jr VP Public Relations

Emily Tapper

Hi! I'm Emily, and I am a second-year student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at Queen’s University hoping to pursue a career as a small animal veterinarian specializing in dentistry and surgery! This is my first year with CPVMA, and I am so excited to be joining as the Junior Vice President of Public Relations! I have always had a huge love for animals, and my experiences in shelters and clinical settings have only made my passion grow stronger. I am especially excited to use my love for creativity and communications to help share CPVMA’s work and connect with other aspiring vets across Canada! As seen in the picture, I have a Goldendoodle at home named Chewie, which is short for Chewbacca (shoutout to any Star Wars fans!), and he has definitely played a huge role in inspiring my love for animals and my dream of becoming a veterinarian.
